TRAFFIC CONGESTION

Traffic Jams are forcing people to move out of the Bay Area. High housing prices force people to live far away from their jobs. Widening our streets is not possible. Fundamentally, people need to find alternate forms of transportation:  bicycling, walking, scooters, or public transit.

On planning commission I have consistently asked for developers for commitments to reduce traffic impacts from their projects. This includes asking for more secure bike parking spots in bicycle rooms. I have also been asking for electric outlets in bike rooms so that people can recharge their bikes at work.
