GOVERNMENT TRANSPARENCY

As they say "sunlight is the best disinfectant". I believe strongly in the Brown Act designed to prevent backroom deals. I pushed to have Planning Commission Meetings be video-recorded and streamed online.

I have used a public google calendar of my Planning Commission activities and meetings since I joined the Planning Commission 5 years ago.

I pushed for and got the City to issue public email accounts for planning commissioners. Planning Commissioners are required to use these accounts for all official communications with staff, applicants and other commissioners.

I pushed for and got the City to produce Tentative Council meeting agendas which gives the public advanced notice  of agenda items so that they can plan well in advance to attend.

In order to make documents more accessible to the public I have pushed to make all documents PDF searchable via OCR and have pushed constantly for better records and document searching on the City's website.
